PRACTICE NURSE SERVICES

Doctors of Coburg North is fully supported by experienced Division 1 Registered Practice Nurse.

Our nurses participate in Continuous Professional Development activities to keep up to date with best practice guidelines, ensuring you receive the best possible care.

Other Services Provided by our Nurse include:

Triage and Emergency Care

Our nurse is trained in triaging, helping prioritise patients according to urgency, giving the best possible assessment and care.

Wound care

All our nurses are highly experienced in acute and chronic wound management and follow current evidence based practice. They also remove sutures and assist in minor surgical procedures.

Immunisations

Our nurses play an essential role, not just in assisting with the administration of vaccines, but also with reporting to the Australian Childhood Immunisation Register (ACIR) and in providing patient education and addressing questions and concerns surrounding immunisation.

Health assessments

Health assessments assist the doctors in implementing health promotion activities and preventative measures for optimal patient health and wellbeing. Our nurses are available to perform Health assessments for all patients over the age of 75.

Care Plans

Our nurses assist in implementing and monitoring GP management plans (GPMPs) and Team care arrangements (TCAs). We work closely with our team of Allied Health Team to provide you with the best health care.

Ear Syringing

Our Doctors have completed an accredited course in this procedure to ensure it is carried out in the safest manner under best practice guidelines.

Cast Application

Our doctors have completed an accredited course to ensure a high quality of care in applying casts

Pap Tests

Pap tests are performed by our female doctor.

ECG Monitoring.

Doctors of Coburg North is fully equipped with an ECG machine on site. Our doctors and nurses are fully trained in ECG Monitoring. These services are free of charge.

Diabetes Care

Our nurses support our doctors in providing diabetes care and education to optimise health and well-being.

Asthma Education

Our doctors and nurses are able to provide asthma education and support for adults and children with asthma and other respiratory conditions.

IMPORTANT CHANGES TO BILLING POLICY21/03/2022

Dear Valued Patients,

It is with regret that we wish to inform you that current Medicare rebates no longer cover the increasing costs associated with providing you with high quality medical care and as a result we have had to review our billing policy. we are introducing MIXED BILLING for consultations for all doctors at the practice, 7 days a week.

This will be effective from (Tuesday) 19th April 2022.

Only eligible patients will be bulk billed for Medicare Rebateable Services. These patients include;

  • Children under 16 years,
  • Vaccinations - COVID, Influenza and kids vaccination
  • Health Care Card and Pension card holders and DVA card holders
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients.
  • Appointments made for follow up of investigation medical results

Fees will also apply to telehealth appointments as well.

Patients who do not fall into one of these categories will be charged a private fee
